What is qualification verification?
Qualification verification is the process of verifying that an individual has the qualifications, skills, or credentials that they claim to have. This can include verifying education, work experience, professional licences or certifications, and other qualifications that are relevant to a particular job or role.
The goal of qualification verification is to ensure that an individual is legally qualified to competently perform the tasks required in a particular job or role, and to provide employers with the information they need to make informed hiring decisions.
What is Appruvr’s service for?
Reports show that 85% of individuals lie on their application, and that 29% of applicants claimed they had finished a course they’d only partially completed. These lies constitute recruitment fraud which costs UK businesses £23 billion annually! Businesses that do not take pre-employment checks seriously are leaving themselves open to significant financial loss and reputational damage.
However, for employers, the current processes for qualification verification are manual, time consuming and fraught with challenges. Manually checking certifications, contacting education bodies, previous employers and references – many of which can be, and are, faked with increasing sophistication. All the while, having employed someone under false pretence, employers are having to manage the contributing performance issues. It’s a difficult, expensive and time intensive process that’s a significant and growing problem for businesses.
I no longer need the verification I submitted. Can I cancel it?
Once you submit a verification request, the Appruvr verification process begins immediately. Although the request can be cancelled, all fees and costs will still apply. If you wish to cancel a verification, please contact us at info@appruvr.co.uk.

Why is a consent form necessary?
A consent form ensures that the candidate agrees to Appruvr conducting the verification and is required by other data controllers involved in the verification process.
I made a mistake when entering the details for an inquiry. Can I edit it?
We strongly advise you to double-check the details before submitting a verification request, as it cannot be edited afterward.
How does it work?
We’ve created the technology to allow organisations to quickly and easily verify an individual’s qualifications by automatically checking databases of educational institutions, professional organisations, and other relevant sources.
Our solution uses blockchain technology so the verification is not only quick, the results are 100% reliable and secure. Our solution has been specifically designed to improve the recruitment journey for employers, institutions and candidates. Bringing qualification checks into the 21st century to stop recruitment fraud and the reliance on outdated and inefficient processes.
The verification has been marked as "Not Appruvd." What does this mean, and will I receive a refund?
A verification can be marked as “not appruvd” for various reasons, including but not limited to:
Insufficient, unclear, or incorrect information.
Outstanding fees owed to the institution. In such cases, the institution may withhold information until the fees are settled. To resolve this, the candidate needs to contact the institution directly.
The candidate does not possess the claimed qualification.
Unfortunately, no refund is available for “not appruvd” responses to your verification request.
How much does verification cost? How can I make payment? Is bulk purchase available?
Appruvr offers verifications starting from £15, and you can securely make payments through our web app. If you represent an organisation that requires multiple verifications, please reach out to us at info@appruvr.co.uk for a customised solution tailored to your needs.
How will I receive the verification?
Once the verification process is finished the candidate will receive an email confirmation and a digital credential to add to their Appruvr Wallet. If another party has requested this information, they will also receive an email confirmation.
Is it possible to pay by invoice?
For organisations requiring a large number of verifications, payment by invoice is an option. If you need an invoice, please email us at info@appruvr.co.uk.
Which countries do you cover?
Currently, Appruvr provides coverage for the UK. However, we have plans to expand internationally. If you require an international service, please contact us at info@appruvr.co.uk for a customised solution.
